1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how qteam service LLC (“qteam”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a Texas limited liability company located at 13355 Noel Rd, Ste 1100, Dallas, TX 75240, USA, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to:
- our website at qteam-service-llc.com (the “Website”);
- the apps we develop and distribute through Apple’s App Store, including RangeLogger (the “Apps”);
- our consulting and Notary Public services, and any communication with us (together with the Website and Apps, the “Services”).
When we provide consulting services to a business client, any personal information we process on that client’s behalf (for example, data contained in quality or complaint records) is governed by our contract with that client – and, where applicable, by a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement – rather than by this policy.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Contact and business information – such as your name, job title, company, email address, phone number and the content of your messages when you contact us by email, social media or otherwise.
- Client engagement information – information needed to prepare proposals, deliver our services, invoice and keep business records.
- Notary information – when we perform a notarization, Texas law (Tex. Gov’t Code § 406.014) requires us to record in our notary record book the date of the instrument and of the notarization, the signer’s name and mailing address, how the signer’s identity was verified (for example, the type of identification card and its expiration date), the name and address of the grantee, information about witnesses where applicable, and a brief description of the document. Under Texas law, entries in a notary record book are public information.
- App support requests – information you choose to send us when asking for help, such as your device model, iOS version and screenshots.
Information collected automatically
- Server log data – when you visit the Website, our hosting provider automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, the pages requested and the date and time of access. We use this information only to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Website.
- Cookies – see Cookies, tracking and Do Not Track below.
Information from third parties
If you interact with us on LinkedIn or Instagram, those platforms may share information with us in line with your settings on those platforms and their own privacy policies.
4. Our apps – general
Our Apps are designed around data minimization. Unless an App-specific section of this policy (such as the RangeLogger section below) states otherwise:
- We do not require you to create an account with us or to provide personal information to use the App.
- Content you create in an App is stored on your device and, where the App uses iCloud, in your own private iCloud account, which is operated by Apple and to which we have no access.
- We do not use third-party advertising networks or third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
- Downloads and any payments are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details.
- If you choose to share crash reports and app analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple provides us with aggregated, de-identified diagnostic and usage data, which we use only to fix bugs and improve the App. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
If a future App or feature collects additional data, we will describe it in that App’s App Store privacy label and in this policy before it is released. Where an App lets you create an account, you will be able to delete the account and associated data from within the App.
5. RangeLogger
RangeLogger is our paid iOS app (iPhone and iPad) for personal recordkeeping of private, firearm-related sporting activities. Because the records you keep can be personal and sensitive, RangeLogger is built so that your records stay under your control: qteam service LLC does not operate a RangeLogger server or account system and does not receive the content of your RangeLogger records. RangeLogger contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs and offers no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
What RangeLogger stores
RangeLogger stores only what you enter or choose to add, which may include:
- Sessions – dates, saved ranges or custom locations you type in, shooters, firearms, ammunition, rounds fired, distances, session type (Inside, Outside, Dry Fire, Other), competition flag, wind speed and direction, notes, malfunction and issue notes, and photos;
- Inventory – firearms (including purchase details, serial numbers and photos), ammunition stock and accessories;
- Records – licenses (including expiration dates and photos), firearm insurance details and frequently visited ranges, including any names, addresses or contact details you enter;
- Device preferences – appearance and background settings, the App Lock setting, and the version and date/time when you accepted the Safety & Legal notice. These preferences are stored on your device.
RangeLogger does not use location services (GPS). Locations are only what you type in or select from your saved ranges.
Automatic iCloud sync
- RangeLogger syncs your records automatically through Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) whenever your device is signed in to iCloud and iCloud is available for the app. There is no separate sync switch inside RangeLogger; you can check your iCloud account status in RangeLogger’s Settings.
- Your records are stored in the private iCloud database of your Apple Account and synced to your other devices signed in with the same Apple Account. This data is stored and protected by Apple and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. qteam service LLC cannot view or access the content of your private iCloud data. If you turn on Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, Apple applies end-to-end encryption to supported data.
- If you are not signed in to iCloud, or iCloud is unavailable or restricted, RangeLogger keeps working and stores your records on the device only. You can control iCloud use for your device in the Settings app → [your name] → iCloud.
- Sync depends on your connection, account and Apple’s services and is not always instant.
Deleting your data – device, iCloud and other devices
- Records you delete in RangeLogger are deleted on the device and, through sync, from your private iCloud and your other synced devices.
- Uninstalling RangeLogger deletes the data on that device only. It does not delete the copy in your iCloud or on your other devices.
- To remove RangeLogger data from iCloud, open the Settings app → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage (or Manage Storage), select RangeLogger if it is listed and delete its data. This is permanent; export a backup first if you want to keep your records.
- Deleting records in RangeLogger or iCloud does not delete JSON backup files, printouts or anything you have saved or shared yourself.
- Because we do not hold your RangeLogger records, we cannot access, export or delete them for you – but we are happy to guide you through these steps.
Backups and printing
In RangeLogger’s Settings you can export your records as a JSON backup file and import such a file again. You can also print all records, all sessions or sessions in a date range through the standard iOS print dialog; reports include notes, malfunction and issue notes and attached photos. To print, RangeLogger creates a PDF internally and passes it to iOS – there is no separate PDF or CSV export. Backups and printouts are created only when you choose to, you decide where they go, and they are not sent to us. They contain your record details in readable form and are not protected by App Lock, so please store, share and dispose of them carefully.
Permissions
RangeLogger asks for access to device features only when you use a function that needs them. You can decline – core recordkeeping works without these permissions – and change your choices at any time in the Settings app → RangeLogger.
- Camera – to take a photo you want to add to a session, firearm or license.
- Photos – to add pictures through the iOS photo picker; RangeLogger receives only the photos you select.
- Calendar – to add a license expiration event with a four-week reminder to your calendar. RangeLogger currently requests full calendar access for this; it uses that access only to create the reminder events you ask for and does not upload or share your calendar data.
- Face ID / Touch ID – only if you turn on App Lock (see below).
App Lock
App Lock is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, RangeLogger uses Apple’s device authentication: you unlock the app with Face ID or Touch ID, or with your device passcode as a fallback. Your biometric data stays in your device’s Secure Enclave – RangeLogger only receives the result (success or failure) from iOS, never your face or fingerprint data, and neither do we. When App Lock is on, RangeLogger locks on launch and when you return to it, covers its content while in the background and closes unsaved forms. App Lock controls access to the app only; it does not encrypt or protect backup files, printouts or data in iCloud.
Safety & Legal acceptance
On first launch RangeLogger asks you to confirm the Safety & Legal notice. Your confirmation is a self-attestation stored on your device; we do not verify age or identity and do not receive this information.
Support requests
If you contact us for support, we receive only what you send us by email. Please do not include serial numbers, license or policy numbers, names, addresses or identifying photos, and do not send backup files – we will never ask for them as routine support information.
6. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your inquiries and provide app support;
- prepare proposals and perform, manage and invoice our consulting and notary services;
- keep the notary records required by Texas law;
- operate, maintain, secure and improve the Website and Apps;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- send you service-related communications. We will send marketing emails only where permitted by law, and every marketing email will include a simple way to unsubscribe (CAN-SPAM Act).
7. How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use or share personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell sensitive data or biometric data. We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers who process information on our behalf, such as our website hosting provider, our email provider and our IT and accounting service providers. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Apple, which distributes our Apps, processes App Store transactions and, if you use iCloud, stores your app data in your private iCloud under its own privacy policy.
- Our European partner, qteam service GmbH, only where needed to deliver a service you have requested and subject to appropriate safeguards.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, auditors and insurers, under a duty of confidentiality.
- Authorities and legal process – when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others. Notary records may be provided on request as required by Texas law.
- Business transfers – in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case the recipient will be bound by this policy.
Any third party with whom we share personal information is required to provide the same or an equal level of protection as described in this policy.
8. Cookies, tracking and Do Not Track
The Website uses only cookies that are technically necessary for it to function (for example, cookies set by WordPress when an administrator logs in, or when you choose to leave a comment). We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not currently use analytics tools that track individual visitors. If we introduce such tools in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Because we do not track visitors across websites over time or sell personal information, our Website does not change its behavior in response to “Do Not Track” browser signals. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar universal opt-out signals as a request to opt out of the sale of personal information and targeted advertising. Third parties do not collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites through our Website.
9. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting and reporting requirements. In particular:
- general inquiries and app support emails are kept for up to three years after our last contact, unless they become part of a client engagement;
- client engagement and billing records are kept for as long as required by applicable tax and business-record laws;
- notary records are kept for the period required by Texas law;
- server log files are deleted automatically by our hosting provider after a short period;
- RangeLogger records are kept on your device and in your iCloud until you delete them – we do not hold them (see RangeLogger).
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it securely.
10. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and secure storage of notary records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a security breach affects your sensitive personal information, we will notify you and, where required, the Texas Attorney General in accordance with Chapter 521 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and other applicable laws.
11. Your privacy rights
Regardless of where you live, you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we process your personal information and give you access to it;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information you provided to us or that we obtained about you;
- provide a copy of your personal information in a portable, readily usable format;
- opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (we do not engage in these activities).
These rights reflect the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and similar laws in other U.S. states. Some requests may be limited by law – for example, we cannot delete entries from a notary record book that Texas law requires us to keep. RangeLogger records are not held by us; you can view, export, correct and delete them directly in the app and in your iCloud settings at any time.
How to submit a request
Email us at info@qteam-service-llc.com with the subject line “Privacy Request”. We will need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and you may use an authorized agent where the law permits. We will respond within 45 days; if we need more time (up to another 45 days), we will let you know why. Requests are free of charge up to twice a year. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Appeals
If we decline to take action on your request, we will explain why. You may appeal our decision by replying to our response or emailing info@qteam-service-llc.com with the subject line “Privacy Request Appeal”. We will respond to your appeal in writing within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
California residents
Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), you may review and request changes to the personal information you have submitted to us by contacting us as described above. This policy describes the categories of information we collect, the categories of third parties with whom we share it, how we respond to Do Not Track signals and how we notify you of changes.
12. Children’s privacy
Our Services are intended for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). RangeLogger is not directed to children; its first-use Safety & Legal notice asks users to confirm their eligibility, which is a self-attestation and not an age verification. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. International users
We are based in the United States. Our Website may be hosted on servers located outside the United States (for example, in the European Union). By using our Services, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
14. Links to other websites
Our Website and Apps may link to third-party websites and services, such as LinkedIn, Instagram, the App Store or our European partner’s website. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting a prominent notice on our Website and, where appropriate, within our Apps or by email before the change takes effect.
